Well, when God closes a door somewhere He opens a window, right?  So goes the saying.  Sometimes though I wish he’d use some Windex on that window cause it’s damn hard to see out it of it to what lies ahead.  Earlier today the line from “The Shawshank Redemption” came to me: “Get busy living, or get busy dying.”  Nothing will be accomplished by wallowing in pity.

No, I haven’t received rejection letters.  And the comments received to Court Jester did cheer me up.  But I can’t just put my life on hold and wait around for whimsical judges to deign to step down to the plebeian level and bother me with an update—whether yes or no.  I’m sure I’ll hear eventually.  So instead, I decided to just move on.  Just keep going.  As of this moment I’m in New York for the foreseeable future.  The contract attorney position asked today if I’d be available to stay on through the trial—possibly lasting another six weeks.  Good news.  And my answer was truthful: I have no other commitments other than the theatre gig.

If, by chance, a judge extends an offer to me, I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.
