Today was my last day as an usher at New World Stages.  Curtain down on my ushering career.  It was sad night.  In many ways actually, a few more that I expected.

I got in to the contract attorney position today for 8:30am and left to work a shift at the theatre that I picked up from another co-worker who needed coverage.  Both jobs today were pretty uneventful.  There’s no court on Fridays—and this week has been slow due to the illness of co-counsel, and at the partner level at that.  I’ve enjoyed the slowed pace.

The ensuing move is rapidly approaching.  As is my flight out to the new location to check on apartments.  Nonetheless, not much is changing in my personal nor professional lives.

It’s May Day.  The day nearly everyone else in the world celebrates labor.  But not here.  In the United States it’s Loyalty Day today.  Did you proclaim your loyalty yet? 

Slipped My Mind

Last night was the first night I somewhat voluntarily chose not to blog.  I say somewhat because it was only at roughly 2:25am that I woke up, slightly inebriated still, and remembered that I hadn’t posted.  But I was too tired to bother getting out of bed, running the numbers, and putting up a place holder.  So that means I’ll have two gaps in my year: one voluntarily and one not. 

Later Night / Early Morning

As I mentioned in Late Night, my evening didn’t end until after 4 am.  I had intended to show my face at the Drama Queenz party and then call it an early night.  I wanted to use Sunday morning and afternoon to clean up my apartment and to work on the research assignment I took on a few weeks back.  Instead I awoke to an email from another usher asking if I could cover his 11:30 am shift at the theatre.  Mice and men, eh?
