This is the end.  My only friends.  The end.  Of my elaborate plans.  The end.  Can’t you picture what could’ve been?  So limitless and free.  Desperately in need . . . of some . . . stranger’s hand.  In my desperate land.  It hurts to set you free.  But you’ll never follow me.  This is, after all, the end.    Keep reading . . .

What a night.  New York certainly made sure I paid my final dues before cutting out.  Keep reading . . .

Today was a very long day.  And it started with a headache.  I woke about four times this morning, hitting snooze each time.  I had intended to get to the contract attorney position early—before a 10am shift at the theatre.  But that just didn’t happen.  It’s odd too because, as I noted in Bubbles Galore, the same thing happened last week: waking with a headache.  I wonder what the connection is between weekends and headaches.  This one was a doozy and didn’t get better until quite late. Last night, while writing Bubbles Galore, I received a voice mail from Drunk Texter, asking me if I could cover a shift from him this week.  Somehow my brain worked that event into my sleep and I dreamed about having to leave him for the clerkship.  The only other image I recall now from that dream was that I somehow ripped the blue shirt I was supposed to wear on the interview.  Premonition?  Because today felt like a waste of time and energy. Today was one long day at the theatre.  I worked there from 11am to 10pm.  I hawked in the morning.  Then attended a mandatory training.  Covered an event after that hosted by Boston University and finally wrapped up the night ushering at Avenue Q.  And despite having seen that show countless times, different parts of it still speak to me depending on the day.  Tonight, the final scene of Act I hit home. I’m still spending too much time thinking about this guy at the theatre, the same I dubbed Drunk Texter in prior posts like Later Night / Early Morning or Hot Toxic Love.  And as I noted in Hot Toxic Love, my feelings for him are truly toxic.  I wish I knew what his hold over me was. Later Night / Early Morning

As I mentioned in Late Night, my evening didn’t end until after 4 am.  I had intended to show my face at the Drama Queenz party and then call it an early night.  I wanted to use Sunday morning and afternoon to clean up my apartment and to work on the research assignment I took on a few weeks back.  Instead I awoke to an email from another usher asking if I could cover his 11:30 am shift at the theatre.  Mice and men, eh? Ushering at The Toxic Avenger Musical tonight got me thinking again about relationships and finances and whether it’s responsible to get involved with someone while in this financial state.  I touched on this a while back in A Time For Everything.  Well, once again I have a suitor seeking my hand.  The Adonis I spoke of in Jollification has been in touch and has expressed interest.  And I’ve expressed interest in getting to know the Drunk Texter I wrote of there as well.  Adonis and I are scheduled to get dinner on Sunday evening.  But while listening to the ballad from the Toxic Avenger Musical, Hot Toxic Love, during the show tonight, it got me thinking even more about affairs of the heart in general and how money affects them. I awoke this morning with a feeling of unnameable dread from the night before.  I had certainly had enough to drink.  Nothing near the amount consumed in A Day Without a Post, but enough to keep my engine running until 5am.  I hinted in And More Jollification at some of my late night activities.  I opted to post part two separately both because the events of last night technically occurred today and because they go to a deeper financial confession I’ve not yet made.   Keep reading . . .
